Questions & Answers About Giving to Shalem
Common questions about giving.
Why Should I Give to Shalem?
Your generous gift supports those parts of Shalem's ministry not fully funded by tuition and fees-including the Shalem News, our web site, library, scholarships and ongoing research and writing by our staff. Each gift, no matter the size, is vital to us.
Why Is My Support So Important?
Income from tuition meets only half of Shalem's program and service costs, and we rely on the generosity of our friends to make up the difference. Through your generosity Shalem continues to bring the profoundly relevant resources of contemplative practice and understanding to active people in all walks of life.
How Does My Matching Gift Help Shalem's Work?
Matching gifts maximize the impact your gift can have on Shalem's work. Many companies will match the charitable contributions made by their employees to non-profit organizations. Many match dollar for dollar; others will double or even triple the contribution!
To take advantage of a matching gift program:
Contact your employer's human resource office to see if your company matches charitable contributions made by employees.
Request a copy of the company's matching gift form and review the program guidelines to see if the Shalem Institute is eligible to receive matching gifts from your company.
Complete the matching gift form and send it to the Shalem office along with your gift.
Upon receipt, we will complete our portion of the form and return it to your employer. The matching gift will be sent directly to Shalem.
Please ask your human resources office about matching gifts today. The additional funds have a substantial impact on Shalem's work and ministry!
Is My Gift Tax-Deductible?
The Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation is a registered 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. Every gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
